The Moon Palace Arena is a sports venue in Herne pan-South district, mainly for the football games of the DSC pan-Eickel and the second team of FC Schalke 04 is used. Formerly known as the Stadium in the Sports Park South Pan- known, the stadium was on 9 August 2009 renamed. It is the first football stadium in Germany that bears the name of a theater. [1]
The sponsorship with the National Theatre Moon Palace will last initially for three years. Rudi Assauer has performed as a sponsor the inauguration. [2] The stadium has an athletics track and holds 13 500 spectators. The stadium was on 3 July 1955 with a field handball match between Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia opened in front of 11,000 spectators, and most recently expanded in the early 1990s with a covered grandstand seating. The clubhouse was completed in mid 2007.
Since the second team of FC Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen no suitable stadium has found, that their home games in the West Regional in the Moon Palace Arena unsubscribe. This have been implemented replacements. For example, a guest block has been created with a separate entrance. From Wikipedia
